LingoWise

Game · 10 minutes · in English · level B2+

A €600k-a-year renewal. In the room: a CFO who wants 15% off, an operations manager who wants faster response times, and your own delivery director who says they would cost a fortune. Nine decisions with three voices that do not agree.

How it works

  1. Read the situation and pick one of the two roads.
  2. Write why in English, using the communicative function given at each move.
  3. See at once what it cost you, on two axes the game shows you from the start.

Here you play the first three moves for free, with the model answer at every move. The other six, the ending and the marking of the sentences you write are in the Fluent at Work course for that level. At the end of the preview, the Debrief: your scores and the three model sentences by email, if you want them. All the decision games, from A2 to C1

The Three-Way Deal

Nine decisions. None of them is obviously right — and you say why in English before you find out what it cost.

You are the sales manager of an Italian IT services company. You are renewing a three-year maintenance contract worth €600k a year with a Belgian logistics group. In the room: Sophie, their CFO, who wants a 15% cut; Dirk, their operations manager, who wants faster response times and does not care about price; and Paolo, your own delivery director, who has told you privately that faster response times would cost a fortune. Everyone speaks English. Nobody agrees with anyone yet.
