How Vocabulary Works in This Course

In this course you will meet new words in two different ways. They look similar (both use flashcards), but they have different jobs. Here is how they work, in plain words.

The “Vocabulary & Pronunciation” lesson of each module

Flip cards freely: hover or tap a card to see the meaning and an example.
Tap the 🔊 speaker under a card to hear the word, or the 🐢 turtle to hear it slowly.
Under each card you see how the word sounds (the bold part is the stressed syllable) and, when there is one, the typical mistake Italian speakers make.
🎤 Pronunciation Coach: record yourself, then listen to the model and to your own voice one after the other. Your recording stays on your device: no score, your ear is the judge.
No tracking, no pressure — it’s a fast first meeting with the key words of the module.

Words come from the audio you just listened to.
For each word you choose: “✅ I know it” or “🔁 Still tricky”.
Already sure you know a word without listening again? Tap “✓ I already know it” right on the front of the card — it counts exactly the same as “I know it” and skips straight to the next word.
“← Previous” / “Next →” just move between cards — they don’t count toward your 3 confirmations.
A word is truly learned only after you confirm it “I know it” in 3 different sessions — that’s how real memory works.
Hard words are remembered for you and come back later (see below).

👉 Our advice: browse the vocabulary cards (and try the 🎤 coach) before reading and listening, and take the Podcast Vocabulary seriously after listening — be honest with “Still tricky”: the more honest you are, the better the course remembers for you.
