Overview & Goals

MODULE 1 · FLUENT AT WORK — B2

Strategic Communication & Vision

Say less, mean more, and make people move in the same direction.

At B2, your English already works. You can hold a meeting, write an email, tell a story. This module is about something harder and far more valuable: communicating like a leader. Not just passing information, but shaping how people think, feel and act — giving a team a clear direction and a reason to follow it.

Vision is not a poster on the wall. It is the short, memorable idea that helps a colleague on a busy Tuesday decide what matters. In this module you will learn to put that idea into words, adapt it for very different audiences, and keep people with you even when the news is uncertain. Think of it as moving from “good English” to persuasive, strategic English.

As always, we build the whole skill around one real theme: a reading to think with, vocabulary and useful language you can reuse the same day, a real podcast to train your ear, and a live speaking roleplay with your AI Tutor. Grammar and pronunciation are practised inside these, not in isolation.

🤖 Your AI Tutor is part of this module. Use it for the speaking roleplay and to ask anything — a word, a phrase, “is this too direct?” It remembers you: the words you struggle with come back in your review, and the tutor picks up where you left off. (See Start Here for the full guide.)

🎯 By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • articulate a clear vision and connect it to everyday priorities;
  • frame the same message differently for the board, your team and clients;
  • communicate change and uncertainty without losing people’s trust;
  • use signposting and structure so you sound strategic, not just busy;
  • handle a high-stakes conversation with confidence and diplomacy.

🔤 Grammar in this module. Two grammar points power this theme: Future Forms and Linking & Cohesion Devices. You will hear the linking and signposting devices all through the Useful Language (“so…”, “in short…”, “let me put that another way…”), and use future forms whenever you talk about where the team is heading. Each has a short explanation and G1–G4 practice.

📦 What’s inside this module

  • Reading — how leaders turn a vision into words people act on, with key vocabulary.
  • Vocabulary — flip-cards for the words that carry weight at this level.
  • Useful Language — ready-to-use phrases for setting direction, aligning and reframing.
  • Podcast — a real audio lesson to train listening, with a short comprehension quiz.
  • Speaking — Roleplay — align a sceptical colleague behind your vision, live with the AI Tutor.
  • Final Quiz — everything from the module (you need 70% to pass).

You don’t need perfect English to lead — you need clear, confident English. Consistency beats intensity: keep showing up, one module at a time. Let’s begin. 🚀
