Game · 10 minutes · in English · level B2
Your Czech supplier is late for the third month running. Your German customer counts €2,000 a day in penalties. Nine decisions, two roads each, none obviously right: and at every move you say why, in English.
How it works
- Read the situation and pick one of the two roads.
- Write why in English, using the communicative function given at each move.
- See at once what it cost you, on two axes the game shows you from the start.
Here you play the first three moves for free, with the model answer at every move. The other six, the ending and the marking of the sentences you write are in the Fluent at Work course for that level. At the end of the preview, the Debrief: your scores and the three model sentences by email, if you want them. All the decision games, from A2 to C1
The Supplier Game
Nine decisions. None of them is obviously right — and you say why in English before you find out what it cost.
You buy components for an Italian machinery assembler. TZK, in the Czech Republic, makes 40% of your couplings and has been late three months running. Your own customer is a German OEM with €2,000-a-day late-delivery penalties. The TZK contract comes up for renewal in March. Your on-time-in-full rate is 71%.
