Unit 1 – Meetings – Roleplay

Roleplay: Proposing & Disagreeing in a Meeting

Time to use what you have learned. You will roleplay a short business meeting with your counterpart. They play a colleague from another country who proposes moving part of your team’s work offshore. Your job: respond like a real professional – propose alternatives, agree or disagree politely, and ask for clarification when you need it.

Try to use, during the roleplay:

  • Grammar: Past Simple vs Present Perfect, reported speech, question tags
  • Useful language: “What if we tried…?”, “I see your point, but…”, “Sorry, just to clarify…”
  • Vocabulary: offshore, labor pool, jargon, fluent, proficiency, awareness

Your colleague opens the meeting below. Reply in the chat to take part – propose, agree, disagree politely, or ask for clarification. After about 5–6 exchanges your colleague will give you quick feedback. When you feel you have practised enough, scroll down and click the “Completa e procedi” button to finish the lesson.
