Overview & Goals

MODULE 6 · TALENT TALK — ENGLISH FOR HR

HR Emails & Policies

The all-company email is HR’s most public writing test: hundreds of readers, one chance to get the tone right.

In this module you will learn to write policy announcements and formal HR emails in English that are clear, fair and calm — even when the news is unpopular. You will work on the formal passive and the linking words that hold a professional email together, and in the roleplay you will defend a policy to an employee who does not like it.

🎯 By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • announce a policy change to the whole company;
  • explain the reasoning before the rule;
  • soften unpopular news without hiding it;
  • invite questions and handle objections in person;
  • write formal openings and closings with confidence.

🔤 Grammar in this module. The passive voice (“Employees are required to…”, “The policy was approved…”) and linking words (however, therefore, in addition, as a result). Each has a short explanation and G1–G4 practice.
