MODULE 8 · TALENT TALK — ENGLISH FOR HR
Compensation & Negotiation
The candidate says yes to a number. They stay for everything around it.
In this module you will learn to talk about money in English without flinching: presenting an offer, explaining what sits around the salary, hearing a counter-offer without panicking, saying no to a figure while keeping the person, and putting the whole thing in writing.
🎯 By the end of this module, you will be able to:
- present an offer as a package, not just a number;
- answer “is that negotiable?” honestly and calmly;
- use comparatives to move a figure a little without promising a lot;
- say clearly where your limit is, and keep the relationship;
- write the offer email that answers a counter-offer.
🔤 Grammar in this module. Comparatives & superlatives — with much, far, a bit or slightly to say how big the difference is — and quantifiers & degree (too much, not enough, so, such). Each has a short explanation and G1–G4 practice.
